Having spent several years immersed in the creative culture of architecture school, I grew to believe that every day life should be filled with an imaginative spirit. Sadly, the every day practice of architecture left that creativity neglected in the minutia of politics, the desire for speed and surface appearance over design and quality. This should not imply that I dislike the field of architecture at all; I love the process and wide scope of creating a building, from the smallest detail to the largest master plan.
But I needed something more to carry me through the long months creative drought in my profession. It was at that time about 3 years ago I began working with small scale metal as creative entertainment. Having always enjoyed working with my hands I took to it almost naturally, enjoying the versatile nature of silver and copper.
As I grew more confident in my abilities and designs I decided to make them available for sale first through an online shop at Etsy, eventually leading to my work being available at brick-and-mortar boutiques in Arizona, Michigan and Alaska. I am very proud of the small collection of jewelry I’ve created, all of which is created and finished by my own hands. I believe this is the best way for me to create something that is not only beautiful, and well made, but also affordable.
